Is your New Years Resolution setting you up to fail…
I’m going to jump straight into this… New Years Resolutions…. Have you ever made one? Did you keep it? I can guarantee most of you said yes and then no… Why? We as human beings are very good at expecting a lot from ourselves and we set goals high, or in this case New Years resolutions that are a little un-realistic, we give ourselves a ‘long term’ goal cause being New Years its needs to be something good! So here are my tips for starting 2018! 1. Don’t start your resolution on January 1st… start when you are making the goal! (Plus most of you will be a little hung over on New Years Day and not doing much at all).
2. Set milestones or mini goals that can be reached in a shorter amount of time but long term will help you reach you long-term goal/resolution.
3. Have a plan for how you are going to stay motivated to make these goals and mini goals actually happen… You might enlist a friend to help keep you accountable, you might pop everything on social media (If its not on Facebook then it never happened…right?), if its to do with weight lose you might take photos each week so you can keep looking at physical changes, if its about being healthy on the inside you might keep a food diary.
4. Reward yourself each time you reach a mini goal, and a bigger reward once you actually achieve you main goal! Try and think outside the box, lets not reward ourselves with Champaign and chocolates and un do our hard work… how about a new dress or a date night to the movies or bowling, or a weekend away.
